My Story

Many people view detoxing as eliminating unwanted byproducts left in the body, however, one of the most important parts of detoxing is putting good sources of nutrients into the body while eliminating unwanted ones. Simply focusing on elimination misses the greater picture. The big picture is to nurture your whole system and elevate it to a greater level of operation. A good way to support your whole system is to focusing on boosting your immune system, your muscle strength, and your gut health.

Detox

The purpose of detox; The purpose of detoxing our body is to reduce the toxin buildup in our bodies because we are constantly exposed to toxins, chemicals, plastics, and pollutants. By reducing our toxic load, we are reducing our chances of autoimmune disorders, chronic illness, and life altering diseases. The buildup of toxins in our bodies damages our cells and leads to these conditions. Our bodies are designed to naturally eliminate these toxins through our waste and sweat but if our immune system is compromised, or if our toxin load is too great, or our genes prevent us from having a proper working filtration system (hello MTHFR), then we are at a higher risk of having an increased toxin load. True detox is a lifestyle, not a quick cleanse or kit you buy.

Detox principles; clean air, clean food, clean water (spring is best). This opens your detox pathways for elimination. Toxins leave your body through sweat and stool. To remove toxins through sweat, consider regular rigorous activity, sauna, or detox baths. To remove toxins through your stool, you need to have daily bowel movements (1-2 per day), and take binders to bind the toxins and carry them out through your stool. Binders include mycobind, black charcoal, welchol, and cholestyramine to name a few. To help support elimination, proper lymphatic drainage massage and rebounding help the body’s natural detox pathways to open.

Clean food means; no gluten, no soy, no dairy. Avoid packaged foods as much as possible.  Eat plants in their natural form. Eat clean meat with no hormones, antibiotics, or steroids, and wild caught meats. Eating this way helps to open your detox pathways to eliminate toxins from your body.
